Head Sushi Chef

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced, creative, and passionate head chef to join our team. As head chef, you will run the back-of-house. You will manage the daily operations of the kitchen, oversee the kitchen staff to ensure that the highest quality of cuisine is served to our guests, and ensure that all food and labor cost goals are met.
Responsibilities
Direct kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleanup
Assign tasks; supervise chefs and cooks in the preparation and presentation of food
Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively
Resolve issues as they arise so that customers continue to receive their orders in a timely manner
Make sure that all kitchen and wait staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen
Plan menus and set prices making adjustments as needed based on the availability of ingredients
Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee that the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers
Collaborate with the general manager and owner to align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the establishment
Direct monthly inventory
Maintain vendor relationships
Recruit, hire, and train chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff
Maintain kitchen equipment; schedule repairs and additional maintenance as needed
Requirements
5 years’ experience in Sushi section or extensive knowledge of Sushi
Excellent command of English language (Written and spoken).
Health and Safety training.
Food Hygiene training.
Ability to communicate with customers and peers with a friendly and positive attitude.
Self-motivated, continuously seeking to succeed and progress in career within the company.

Job Description: Our restaurant needs an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. You will prepare sushi rolls and dishes at the sushi bar for our customers. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with a variety of sushi rolling, plating, and related cooking techniques and has experience working in a busy sushi restaurant. Advanced knife cutting skills are a must. We expect our sushi chefs to be friendly and interact with customers, providing recommendations on different dishes when requested.
Responsibilities
Create a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish (for example, salmon, tuna, unagi) Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi
Select fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes (like avocado, mango and carrots)
Add additional flavors to sushi rolls with ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce, when appropriate
Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice
Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed
Recommend new, modern recipes, like sushi burgers
Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift
Requirements
2 years of work experience as a Sushi Chef, preferably in a Japanese restaurant
Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
Ability to work both fast and accurately
Team spirit and coaching abilities
Availability to work during business hours, including holidays, weekends, and evenings

Job Description: We are looking for a server who will be responsible for taking orders from and serving food to customers. Duties will mostly include taking food and drink orders and writing them down on order slips and ensuring that tables are served properly and that all payments are collected. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff. Previous work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment is greatly desired.
Responsibilities
Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
Attend to customers upon entrance
Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
Take orders from dine-in and carry out customers
Take and prepare phone orders for delivery or pick-up
Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
Issue bills and accept payment
ID guests wanting an alcoholic beverage.
Restock server stations with napkins, togo box, sauces, chopsticks, straws, dishes, glasses, plastic cup, etc.
Do light prep work (e.g., refill sauce for takeout, make drinks like tea and coffee).
Take orders from dine-in and carry out customers

Make daily closing financial reports.
Requirements
Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
High school diploma.
